”Wait, you’re supposed to weight it first!”
Cover for my next artbook which will be available in April!
In case you’re wondering, that’s my version of “Weighing of the Heart” from the Book of Dead” http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Book_of_the_DeadAww, what a cuteness!
The Judgment of Osiris
All the credits to this amazing artist!
It took me 5 seconds and two clicks on Google Image search to find the credits.
Learn Google feature “search by image”. :)
These are the parts of the bigger piece ”The Last Judgement”.
The first drawing represents the Judge Osiris/Ausar King of the Underworld, his sister-wife Isis/Aset and the demon goddess Ammit, devourer of the Souls, observing the judgement of a dead Egyptian.
Second one is their son, Horus, the divine Pharaoh, waiting to see if the dead is ready to enter the Afterlife.
Third piece shows the Guardian of the Scales and the one that leads the way for the dead, Anubis/Anpu, Divine Scribe Thoth and the Holy Scale, weighing the heart of the deceased Egyptian with the sky goddess Nut above them.
Inspired by a certain beaky someone who seems to tell me one of the above every time I use divination for him lately. I have a feeling I’m not the only beakling that gets this message from him, and considering the perfect image courtesy Marvel comics, I couldn’t help but make a little motivational poster of Mr. Djehuty himself for us to be inspired into doing the task.
Now every time when I say to myself “What should I do for Djehuty today”, this damn meme thing pops up on my dash :)
I think he invented a new way of trolling.
* but this meme does not include *translating things* and studying hieroglyphics - these I still do the most.
If I will not be too lazy today, hopefully I’ll translate one of Rosemary Clark’s rites…
