WIP number 2 of Set and Apep. Most of the blackwork is done though he needs a few touch ups. If you look close you can see where I fucked up and had to cover a smudge with white paint.
‘Set’s Victory’ has already sold and will be going to a new home with a sister piece depicting Ra.
The Egyptian god Set stands in victory over Apep, the demon serpent of entropy and chaos.
This piece was challenging but fun. Human figure drawing has never been my forte (I prefer animals) but I am glad with the progress I made. Set has been my favorite Egyptian god for a long time now so it was fun to finally get around to drawing him. This piece is already sold. I can do similar pieces on commission. Look for a sister piece depicting Ra coming soon.

on a note! she is not a jackal (ex: anubis), she is an ancient egyptian creature named the sha-animal (set is a sha-animal)
SET, god of the desert, storms, disorder and violence.
often represented as a mixed creature, with a canine body,
slanting eyes, square-tipped ears, a tufted/forked tail, and
a long, curved snout. because Set was identified with the
Greek Typhon, the animal is also commonly known as the
Typhonian animal or Typhonic beast.
So this is basically Set.
