Simon Boswell - “Demonica”

From the soundtrack of “Demons 2”.

Blue Oyster Cult - “Godzilla”

With all the Pacific Rim kaiju love going on, I can’t believe this isn’t a top 40 hit again!

A tribute to the KING!

Lyrics:

With a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound
He pulls the spitting high-tension wires down

Helpless people on subway trains
Scream, bug-eyed, as he looks in on them

He picks up a bus and he throws it back down
As he wades through the buildings toward the center of town

Oh, no, they say he’s got to go
Go go Godzilla
Oh, no, there goes Tokyo
Go go Godzilla

History shows again and again how nature points up the folly of man
Godzilla!

“Rawhead Rex”

Based on a short story by Clive Barker.

A monstrous pagan god is loosed when a neolithic stone that held him prisoner is moved. The creature goes on a killing spree to reclaim that which was his.

Clive Barker has expressed a desire to make another attempt to adapt this story, as he was not happy with the final film. Mostly the look of the monster.

I saw this on television when I was about 8 or so. It scared the living hell out of me.

I just found out that “Nightbreed: The Cabal Cut” is finally getting a DVD release Shout Factory. I saw this film at Mad Monster Party in Charlotte back last year. It was the first time I had seen the film in any cut and it changed my life. It is one of the best horror films I have ever seen. It won’t be until next year, but I am still super excited!

Awesome indy metal band from California. All there music is WEREWOLF themed!

“The Strangeness”

This is a really awesome low budget horror film from 1985. I first read about it in the book “Nightmare USA”, a book about independent horror filmmaking in the US. I was intrigued and sought it out. Luckily it was posted on youtube.

It is about a group of people hired to access the condition of an old gold mine to see if it can be reopened.

The mine was sealed and abandoned in the late 1800s when after breaking through to a natural cavern system, something started killing the miners.

Once inside, the group is trapped by a cave in that seals the entrance and must go deeper into the mine to get around the blockage. But they soon come across the cause of the deaths of so many miners. The deep shadows of the mine are home to a tentacled, flesh-eating monster!

Despite being shot on a budget of $25,000 this film has really great atmosphere, some genuinely creepy moments and a gnarly stop-motion animated monster! Check it out!

Everything is true. God is an Astronaut, Oz is Over the Rainbow… and Midian is where the monsters live.
