Godzilla 1964 by Bryan Baugh
That time in 1978 when Godzilla was shrunk down and dressed up like a private eye…. Godzilla #19 (1978)
With a purposeful grimace and a terrible sound
He pulls the spitting high tension wires down
Helpless people on a subway train
Scream bug-eyed as he looks in on them
He picks up a bus and he throws it back down
As he wades through the buildings toward the center of town
Oh no, they say he’s got to go go go Godzilla
Oh no, there goes Tokyo go go Godzilla
History shows again and again
How nature points up the folly of men

This is a page from fan comic by Godzilla suit actor Hurricane Ryu. It features a “sword and sorcery” anthropomorphic Godzilla.
This is all kinds of hot!
Best. Godzilla. Art. Ever.
This is a page from the manga story, “Godzilla: Monster Warrior,” by mangaka/suit actor/Godzilla fan Hurricane Ryuu (Godzilla Vs. King Ghidorah, Den-Ace, etc.), in the doujinshi anthology collection, The Godzilla Comic (1990). Imagine Bandai’s Tamashii Nations making a figure out of this guy! :)
I… I actually really want to read this! Anthropomorphic Godzilla by way of John Norman, Edgar Rice Burroughs and Frank Frazzeta! That’s pretty damn cool!
Ooh! I’ll be his damsel in distress any day!
Here is a larger (or at least more expansive) version of the comic page a reblogged a could of posts back. Once again, this is from a Japanese anthology comic called “The Godzilla Comic” published in 1991. This story was written and drawn by the actor who played King Ghidorah in “Godzilla vs King Ghidorah”. It is called “Godzilla: Monster Warrior” and has Godzilla transformed into a sword and sorcery type character.
I wish I could find this whole story. Even if I can’t read Japanese, it would be so badass!
WANT! Wantwantwantwant!
