The U.S. is backing Ukraine’s extreme right-wing Svoboda party and violent neo-Nazis whose armed uprising paved the way for a Western-backed coup. Events in the Ukraine are giving us another glimpse through the looking-glass of U.S. propaganda wars against fascism, drugs and terrorism. The ugly reality behind the mirror is that the U.S. government has a long and unbroken record of working with fascists, dictators, druglords and state sponsors of terrorism in every region of the world in its elusive but relentless quest for unchallenged global power.
Behind a firewall of impunity and protection from the State Department and the CIA, U.S. clients and puppets have engaged in the worst crimes known to man, from murder and torture to coups and genocide. The trail of blood from this carnage and chaos leads directly back to the steps of the U.S. Capitol and the White House. As historian Gabriel Kolko observed in 1988, “The notion of an honest puppet is a contradiction Washington has failed to resolve anywhere in the world since 1945.” What follows is a brief A to Z guide to the history of that failure.

You can’t make this up.
McDonald’s Chief Executive Steve Easterbrook’s total compensation for 2015 rose to $7.91 million, a 368 percent increase over his 2014 total pay of $1.69 million, according to proxy documents the company filed today.
Easterbrook, who took over as CEO of the fast-food giant in March 2015, had a base salary of $1.03 million, along with stock and option awards of just over $5 million and non-equity incentive plan compensation of $1.47 million. He also received an allowance for a company car, financial planning services, security, annual physical exams, use of the company’s corporate aircraft and other limited personal items worth $224,235.Easterbrook made the
desperatemind-blowing move to start selling McDonald’s breakfast at any time. Besides being something that every teenager with the munchies has thought of since 1967 (and probably earlier), this is the kind of bullshit that passes for “innovation” these days. In unrelated news, don’t get burned while working the fri-o-lator at McDonald’s and don’t expect a living wage from them without a serious fight.
MLK was a wise man, these words are part of the teachings he left for humanity.
April 4 marks the anniversary of the assassination of this great civil rights leader. The killing occurred in Memphis, Tennessee. King had traveled there in support of striking African-American sanitation workers who were protesting against unfair wages and working conditions, who were being paid much less than their white counterparts at that time. bit.ly/1RV2ydm
