Just thought that I would plug this book. If you have not read it then I HIGHLY recommend it. Especially if you want a good book to read during your time off for the holidays.

This is “The Sticks” written by Andy Deane, the lead singer of the Gothic/Industrial/Dark Wave band Bella Morte.

The plot concerns an average misfit of a guy who loses his girlfriend at a party and then finds out that she did not make it home. He comes to find out that his quiet Virginia town has become the hunting ground of a werewolf!

I don’t want to give too much away plot wise, but this book is awesome. The dialogue is very natural, the characters are believable to the point that you feel like you have met people like this before and it has some very tense and scary moments.

If you like horror stories, werewolf stories or just stories about ordinary people dealing with extraordinary situations I think you will like this. It is one of my all time favorite books!

I posted eariler that I accidentally went to Dragon*Con and I did and wow it was fun. We didn’t really do much in the way of cosplay or panels because we were not prepared at all, but I did buy way…

You are the best friend in the world!

The Boogey Man would not dare fuck with me if I had this!
I found this in a local shop and had to buy it. Its part of my “why didn’t I have something cool when I was little” collection. He’s soft except for his hands and head.

I never realized how obviously in love they were when I was a kid.

Look at you Cartoon Network, subconsciously teaching children about equality…

Courage the Cowardly Dog was nothing but subconscious lessons of racism, love, materialism, skepticism, loss, confidence, forgiveness, imperfections etc, the list goes on. Time and time again courage lives up to his name dealing with life threatening situations to protect the naive Muriel & greedy Eustace. Despite Eustace being a constant jerk to him, Courage still makes the effort to save him, even if Eustace is the cause of his own undoing at the end of most episodes.

I lack a better way of saying this but, it’s probably the deepest childrens show to ever exist. If people think Adventure Time was the first cartoon do anything like this, it’s obvious they’ve never watched Courage. Courage is just a lot more Subtle, and it’s dark & somewhat scary exterior can turn kids away. This’ll sound cheesy and over-analyzing but, that’s the beauty of it, it’s scary and you learn things from having the courage to watch it.

Courage is just one of my all time favorite cartoons. I loved it more than any other shows in the Cartoon Cartoon lineup of classic Cartoon Network.

Truly the greatest lesbian love story ever told!

All joking aside, even as a kid I knew there was more than just friendship between these two. And you know what? I was alright with it. They were happy together, and with help from courage, they escaped the douche bags that tried to keep them apart.

I miss “Courage, the Cowardly Dog”. It was pretty advanced for what it was. Other episode that made you think and feel deeper with only a little effort were “The Hunchback of Nowhere” and “Last of the Starmakers”.

A running theme seemed to be to tolerate those who don’t meet the norm and to live and let live. This is a show that needs to come back. Not just as re-runs but as a whole new production.
