In order to get myself out of the funk I have been in, I went to the movies and saw the new Star Trek film. I really liked it. I have not kept up with any of the news or fandom around it so Benedict Cumberbatch being Khan took me by surprise. Instead of one villain, you had two and both were doing bad things for good reasons. It makes it a bit more ambiguous that way.

I guess that my only gripe is that even with a huge budget and all the CGi in the world at hand, JJ Abrams could have made some of the aliens more spectacular. Like the first film though, most are just people who have had some of their features digitally expanded or contracted. 

Since Khan lives at the end, I hope they bring him back in future films. 

Awesome.

I am going to see the new star trek movie in about half an hour. I hope it is as good as the first!
