Just thought that I would plug this book. If you have not read it then I HIGHLY recommend it. Especially if you want a good book to read during your time off for the holidays.
This is “The Sticks” written by Andy Deane, the lead singer of the Gothic/Industrial/Dark Wave band Bella Morte.
The plot concerns an average misfit of a guy who loses his girlfriend at a party and then finds out that she did not make it home. He comes to find out that his quiet Virginia town has become the hunting ground of a werewolf!
I don’t want to give too much away plot wise, but this book is awesome. The dialogue is very natural, the characters are believable to the point that you feel like you have met people like this before and it has some very tense and scary moments.
If you like horror stories, werewolf stories or just stories about ordinary people dealing with extraordinary situations I think you will like this. It is one of my all time favorite books!
Book
So anyway, I was walking home reading my favorite books. There was a football game at the stadium so obviously I headed in the opposite direction to escape the crowds of loud obnoxious football fans.
But, it never fails when I walk the streets of Boone, someone has to scream something at me as the drive by. This time it was a football fan who yelled.
“Yeah! Read the shit out of that book, mother fucker!”
I suppose I could take that as encouragement. But, calling me a “mother fucker” probably was not necessary.
I should have thrown a rock.
Another shot of my treasures from Mad Monster Party!
In a weird place.
You find yourself in a weird place when you find that your mom has a copy of one the “50 Shades of Grey” books in with her other books. The second one… So that means that she has probably read the first.
It is a strangely hilarious feeling.
Safety. Obscurity. Just another freak in the freak kingdom

New and not-so new movies
I got a new movie in the mail the other day. “Flesheater” by Bill Hinzman who played the cemetery zombie in the original “Night of the Living Dead”. I bought it as part of a three pack of zombie movies with “Zombi Holocaust” and “Burial Ground”. I already have those two, but it was cheaper to buy all three than to Get “Flesheater” by itself.
It is a cheesy but very fun and entertaining zombie flick. A dumbass farmer who is pulling stumps in a field finds a coffin with some satanic stuff written on it and opens it. inside is Hinzman, essentially reprising his “Night of the Living Dead” role, who then goes about killing people and turning the into zombies. I loved it.
The three films came in one case. But of course, part the case is broken and it can’t hold all three discs any more. I am working on finding replacements, but probably won’t get them until tomorrow. I can give each movie its own case.
While I was at the used book store I found a copy of “Alice In Wonderland”. I need to finish reading it.
Woe be unto him who opens one of the Seven Gateways of Hell. Because through that gateway, Evil will invade the world.
