ENLìL Wind turbine

seeing this makes it look like such an obvious thing that should be installed all over the place.

“The turbine is designed vertically with long blades. It covers less area on the ground and is easy to handle. It can easily be assembled and disassembled which makes it durable. Solar panels are fixed at the top of the turbine to generate extra electricity. The device is capable of producing approximately 1 kilowatt per hour of electricity. A single ENLIL turbine can easily provide the average daily electricity needs of two households.

Apart from that, the turbine also contains inbuilt sensors like carbon footprint sensors, to detect earthquakes and IOT platform. The safety and comfort of the city are also ensured.

The turbine can be installed in parks, near seashores, rooftops, households but the roads are the ideal locations for the device. The big vehicles like buses can provide a lot of wind energy. The speeding vehicles on the highway can provide enough wind for these turbines to work all day and night without stopping. The energy generated can be transported to places or it can be used for maintenance of roadways.“

*whispers* genius

I think about these things every single day and there’s NO good reason they shouldn’t already be everywhere

Y'all it’s named after the mesopotamian god of the wind 😭

I’ve got huge news to everyone about the conservation of energy, and where the “wind” that would move the turbine would be coming from

Ok. So, on one hand, yes- a better solution would be something like robust public transit that would reduce the amount of cars/traffic on the road at all. Commuter rail and walkable cities, etc etc etc.

BUT- if we are still talking about a situation where we still *have cars* - this is an excellent way to mitigate their impact some. Those cars will be there, making that wind, whether or not the turbines exist. By putting wind turbines there, we are recapturing some of the energy that *is being used to move the cars regardless.*

It’s like recycling. Yes, it’s BETTER to simply reduce your use of materials like plastic and aluminum overall. But if you are going to be using those materials, it’s better to recycle them when they are used up instead of just throwing them away.

Also they’re portable.

When the busses are gone, move them to the train platforms.
