He was working on a mechanism that would use your phone’s camera to detect when you were looking at your screen.

And if it didn’t detect your eyes looking at the screen - IT WOULD PAUSE THE ADVERT YOU WERE IGNORING.

This guy, this fucking guy, honestly thought he was working on something that rivalled a cure for cancer.

Combine this with the deepfake porn stuff that’s come up this week and people claiming to be on missions of ‘tech for good’ just seems like pure fantasy.

For those who don’t know - a streamer, Atrioc, tabbed out of a game which had a browser window open on deepfake porn of two other streamers.

The law is painfully out of date. Non-consensual deepfake pornography is technically legal. This law needs updated as soon as possible.
