Late stage capitalism… What the hell? I have so many questions. You lose an organ and it’s not even a substantial reduction in sentence. Who is going to provide the ongoing health care necessary for the former convicts who will now be potentially immuno-compromised?

No one, you're supposed to give your organs to some rich fuck who needs them and then die they don't care about your life you're just organ cows to them. Produce what they don't have and give it back to them then die that's all they want prisoners to be for and it's literally beyond inhumane.

Under Covid (which yes it's still around despite all the pretending) losing an organ is more likely to leave you vulnerable to dying from Covid. Covid in US prisons is not restricted nor acted upon it is allowed to run rampant in these institutions, as such youre expected to give away an organ regardless despite this and it lessens your sentence by up to 2 years (but as low as 60 days). Meaning if you still had time in prison to serve you would still have to serve it once you've donated that organ meaning the odds you get Covid and die are really good. This is what I call a feature not a bug, they know this is the likely outcome for people who do this, they simply don't care. After all why should they? A rich man needs an organ a poor man should give it and then die, that's all this is. If this disgust you and angers you, it should.
