On this day, 17 January 1969, Bunchy Carter and John Huggins, two members of the revolutionary Black Panther Party were murdered by members of the US (United Slaves) organisation, a black nationalist group which was being manipulated by the FBI as part of its COINTELPRO program with the intention of causing deadly division.
