Today would’ve been legendary director Tobe Hooper’s 80 birthday. Hooper, of course, directed and co-wrote what many (myself included) consider to be one of the greatest horror films of all time in The Texas Chain Saw Massacre (1974). He would also go on to direct many other notable films in the genre such as ‘Salem’s Lot (1979), The Funhouse (1981), Poltergeist (1982), Lifeforce (1985), The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2 (1986) and many more. He sadly passed away at the age of 74 on August 26, 2017 in his Sherman Oaks home.
