A lot of assholes respond to this by saying that student loans are a choice and cancer is not.

But plenty of people also say that cancer is a choice, because there are actions (such as smoking cigarettes) that can increase a person's chance of cancer.

If you start separating people into "deserving to suffer" and "not deserving to suffer", it's only a matter of time until society's definition of "deserving to suffer" includes people who you don't think it should.

So how about we just help people who are suffering and stop arguing about who deserves it?

Also, how many of these assholes are against universal healthcare?
