On this day, 3 January 2018, hospital workers in Togo began a sit-down strike demanding improvements to health facilities and working conditions. Workers told journalists they were “tired of seeing patients die without being able to save them”.
During the industrial action, the Syndicat National des Praticiens Hospitaliers du Togo said it would provide only minimum and emergency services over the course of the action. There followed many other strikes for improvements for public healthcare. https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.1819457841572691/2178442892340849/?type=3
