amazing how even leftists will cheer on the tiktok ban thing in the US when if you actually look into the bill and/or further arguments the ultimate goal is to push out competitors of tech monopolies in the US. it refers to social media from countries that may cause national security concerns. except the arguments are entirely based on (mostly marco rubio's) hypothetical situations and not hard evidence. so this is basically saying "just trust the US government when it comes to moderating surveillance", as if that hasn't already been proven to be a terrible idea.
It's not entirely hypothetical, it's just that the people who use social media companies to try and stir up domestic unrest in a foreign nation is the CIA.
