On this day, 8 October 1969, the Weathermen group-inspired Days Of Rage against the Vietnam War began in Chicago with the motto “Bring the war home”. Over 300 people assembled in Chicago’s Lincoln Park and attacked 1,000 police, and local businesses. Six unarmed protesters were shot and over 60 arrested.
