New Orleans photo dump #8- saved the best for last! Crypts and walkways at Lafayette Cemetary No. 1 with @kyle.belmont. This was part of our historical walking tour, sadly no one is allowed IN the cemetaries currently. I learned a lot about how these crypts were used for what was basically natural cremation, since as an originally Catholic city, New Orleans did not get an actual crematorium until 1971! The magnolia trees were planted to cover the smell of the decomposing bodies. #nola #neworleans #history #lafayettecemeteryno1 #magnoliatree #graveyard #rain #vacationallieverwanted #crypts #nofilter
