🌌Did you know? Polaris wasn’t always our “North Star.”

🔭Today, it’s the only star in a position that never seems to change. This is because Earth’s axis of rotation points directly at Polaris. But Earth’s axis of rotation slowly changes the direction in which it points. In 3000 B.C.E., a star called Thuban was our North Star, and about 13,000 years from now, it will be Vega.
