ok but no one is going to talk about the fact that the democratic and republican parties slowly switched platforms between 1860 to 1930. The most marked switch came when Democrats picked up civil rights. The South switched to the Republican party because they were not willing to support that. The modern demographic of the Republican party was built specifically from an opposition to civil rights.
