Always get the itemized list, babes. ALWAYS.

Not just for medical either. Ever got smacked with a huge ass fee for "damages" when you move out of an apartment that not just eats your security deposit but tries to take an arm and a leg as well.

Ask for the itemized list, you will be surprised how fast they come back with a "huh, that's weird, I can't seem to find where these damages are coming from" and let that shit go.

People WILL try to screw you on all kinds of routine and mundane shit. Don't let them.

Also, secrutity deposit doesnt cover normal wear and tear. You are not responsible for replacing the carpet if you never put belmishes on it, and you are also not responsible for it in states where renters are REQUIRED to replace it with each new tennant.

A good practice before moving out is to take a video of the place you are moving out of, when everything is gone. Get clear shots of the walls, floors, appliances. If they want to get you on damages, they will have to prove it against your video evidence.

Fight your health insurance as well. I ... sadly, lost my first child at 14 weeks due to some extream birth defects... I got a call from our insurance telling me I have to cover the cost of my hospitlization because this was a “pre-existing condition.” I asked the agent to explain HOW something can be a pre-existing condition when it was the first time that happened to me? It wasnt something that I had to be hospitalized for on the monthly.. My doctors even did genetic testing to see if this defect was a fluke or a product of some weird gene. Testing came back that I just got a really fucked up birth defect by no fault of my own... so again.. Pre-existing how? (Nevermind they were calling me just weeks after having lost my child about this stupid shit. I was extremly pissed off that they even had the audacity to give me a bullshit excuse as to why I had to pay for something THEY should be covering.)

Agent took it off the record and they paid.. like they should have.

FIGHT for your right to not pay shit you shouldnt have to pay for.
