Also he’s not the guy who gives it to you, he’s the guy who keeps insisting on shittier and shittier add-ons to technology other people are inventing, and then charging a fortune for us to play guinea pig in his death trap experiments. Electric cars were invented in the goddamn 19th century and then killed by Ford. He’s not some kind of brilliant savant, and he didn’t even re-invent or re-popularize electric cars, that was GM and Toyota. The tweet is right, and the US DOE is more responsible for the growing availability of electric cars than Elon Musk is.
