Wow May 23, 2022 marks an end to a huge era. I’d made tons and tons, maybe hundreds(?) of calls on NYC pay phones over the decade before cell phones. How many 70s film plots teetered on NYC pay phones. How many thousands of miles of film feature NYC pay phones. Really is an end to such a weird cultural touchstone of what is now a bygone era. Fuckin yikes.
