I have been so firmly critical yet polite and thoughtful to twitter people doing the “rich white women will always be able to get abortions” dance and I really feel the need to tell someone how much I can’t fucking stand these people. I hate their smug attitude that simpleton feminists who think abortion is primarily a matter of gender oppression need to be educated about how it’s really about a different, apparently more important system of oppression. I hate their worship of Engels and automatic assumption that everything can be relegated to class. I hate how they’ve successfully located a group of women it’s socially acceptable to sneer at or at least lack any theory of mind for. I fucking hate how so many of them implicitly recognize that “rich white Republicans’ mistresses and daughters” (those sluts!) will “receive” abortions (largely mythical) at the direction of their patriarchs but somehow this violation of bodily autonomy is irrelevant because they don’t give one actual fuck about women and girls. I hate their refusal to take cultural, social, and legal pressures around reproduction seriously the way they do material ones and their adamant denial that being raised from birth to believe that your body exists as a vessel for others and all your needs and health and possibilities to flourish are inherently less important than those of everyone else is in and of itself a horrific act of harm because she “chose” it or it’s their “culture” or whatever. I am not Kat Stratford and they are not Patrick Verona so to end things I’m going to reiterate how much I hate these people and their weapons grade fake-woke misogyny for great justice. I really fucking hate them.

It’s because for a certain subset of leftists, misogyny is increasingly viewed as “not real oppression.” You need to add the word salad of social justice buzzwords to make it even worth considering as something that they should care about. This whole idea that “rich white women can always get abortions so we should either ignore this entire debate, scoff it off, or actively mock them lmao, we are very progressive and care so much about people” is wrong on so many levels, and yet.

If rich white women can only get the abortions that rich white men want them to have, that is… uh… literally also Gilead-worthy. Because a) rich white women should still have the right to CHOOSE WHAT TO DO WITH THEIR OWN BODY and should not be dependant on their male relatives agreeing to break the law (which is designed to benefit male social control), and b) this whole so-called progressive version of “only the people we personally like or deem Morally Pure should have rights” is, once again, just repackaged far-right bullshit. I don’t fucking like all the Republican white women who weaponize their womanhood, vote for Trump and other MAGATs, and cry about oppression in order to deflect from being horrible fucking racists and just as bad as Republican white men. That doesn’t mean that they should be barred from making choices about their own body. I don’t care why they need or want an abortion. They should get that abortion. Period.

Protip, if your “support” for women rests solely and conditionally on finding those women who you deem it acceptable to discriminate against, and then acting as if they are exempt from misogyny and this therefore makes it legitimate for you to not care about the issue at all and/or look down on everyone else who DOES care, you’re an asshole. The end.

Socially acceptable to dunk on white women who are richer than I’ll ever be who have horrible politics and up until this point have been full blood fascist themselves. I believe it’s y’all with the problem, white fragile feminism at its finest, these women are fucking horrible and have always been fucking horrible like this is like asking me to stand up for Marjorie Taylor Greene when there’s like millions and millions of poor and impoverished people who aren’t nazis that you could be batting for instead. Not saying these women don’t also deserve bodily autonomy everyone does full stop. I am saying however that these same women are often calling all queer people groomers and trying to get them killed. So like.
