Last thing I am going to say on the matter. Until recently Mexico was in this same situation, with no federal protections for abortion rights and it being left up to the states. In 2020 there were mass protests. Thousands marched thru Mexico city. They brought hammers, bats, molotov cocktails. There was violence. There were fires. There were clashes with police and counter protestors and graffiti and homemade bombs at the presidential palace.

The next year abortion was decriminalized nationwide

Joe Biden btw supported the Mexico City Policy banning US funding for any foreign NGO’s that even discuss abortion in their family planning services, up until 2020

This is a fucking lie. Trump re-instituted the Policy, and Biden reversed it in 2021. Democrats have consistently rescinded the Policy after Republicans reinstated it.

Oh excuse me I was mistaken here. He supported the Mexico City Policy from its inception in 1984 all the way up to 2005.

In 1981, he crafted the Biden amendment to ban the use of foreign aid for biomedical research related to abortion. He repeatedly voted for the so-called Hyde amendment prohibiting the use of federal funds for abortion, including through Medicaid. Both policies remain in place today, despite efforts by Democrats to end the ban on the use of federal funds.

In 1984, Mr. Biden supported an amendment praising the Reagan administration’s “Mexico City policy,” which banned federal funding for organizations around the world that provide abortion counseling or referrals. In 2005, he voted against it, supporting an amendment that would have nullified President George W. Bush’s reinstatement of the policy

He supported the Hyde Amendment, which banned federal funding for abortions domestically all the way up until 2020, when he finally vowed to repeal the amendment during the democratic primaries. Despite that campaign promise he still signed an appropriations bill that included the Hyde amendment as recently as 2 months ago, caving into republican demand for it while democrats control both houses of congress and the presidency
