Who’s this dino? It’s Psittacosaurus!👀

Found in the Museum’s Hall of Ornithischian Dinosaurs, this dinosaur model stands at 4 feet (1.2 meters) long and 2 feet (.61 meters) tall. Psittacosaurus lived some 100 million years ago and, despite the fact that it didn’t have any horns, it was a member of the same group as Triceratops! Psittacosaurus was named for its prominent rostral bone, which formed the tip of its upper beak. The front of its jaw was used to crop vegetation before the food was chewed, swallowed, and ground between stones in its gizzard.

🌸The Museum is open every day through April 24, including all of the NYC public school spring break!
