Gov. Gretchen Whitmer made the biggest news of the week in her announcement that she would sue 13 county prosecutors, seeking to rid the state of its 1931 abortion ban and make the procedure a constitutional right in Michigan.
“If a woman is forced to continue a pregnancy against her will, it can have devastating consequences, including keeping families in poverty and making it harder for women and families to make ends meet,” Whitmer said in a statement Thursday.
