Masters of Make-Up Effects: A Century of Practical Magic will be published on September 6 via Welbeck Publishing. It’s written by special effects legend Howard Berger (Kill Bill, Scream, The Chronicles of Narnia) and journalist Marshall Julius.

The 320-page hardcover coffee table book charts the evolution of practical effects with untold stories and never-before-seen photos. It features a foreword by filmmaker Guillermo del Toro and an afterword by Family Guy creator Seth MacFarlane.

It includes insight from more than 50 makeup effects artists including Rick Baker, Tom Savini, Greg Nicotero, Alec Gillis, and Kevin Yagher, as well as actors such as Doug Jones, Robert Englund, James McAvoy, Bruce Campbell, and Doug Bradley and directors Mick Garris and John Landis.
