It’s just material interests, it’s why capitalism isn’t some moral failing, but a systemic issue - affordable housing being built likely would lower the value of his investments. Same reason all the celebs are hopping on crypto: they’ve already all been investing in various ways without much care for anything but ROI, since that’s just... what you do when you have money under capitalism. Anyone who doesn’t do these things doesn’t stay rich.
