It’s just material interests, it’s why capitalism isn’t some moral failing, but a systemic issue - affordable housing being built likely would lower the value of his investments. Same reason all the celebs are hopping on crypto: they’ve already all been investing in various ways without much care for anything but ROI, since that’s just… what you do when you have money under capitalism. Anyone who doesn’t do these things doesn’t stay rich.

hong kong real estate moguls r literally funding separatists 2 scream abt imaginary oppression n ‘democracy’ just 2 appeal 2 white ppl

when in fact it is these same moguls who r afraid of the hk govt coming in n possibly seizing land in order 2 build affordable housing 2 help the people of hk

after the 2019 failed color revolution, the govt of hk is doing just that — drawing up plans 2 build affordable housing. n cos china is socialist, this will happen
