If you live under the rule of a government where it's appointed officers entrusted with enforcing the law are not only legally permitted but also openly encouraged to rob you of your personal property at gunpoint but you have no complementing equal right to defend yourself from being robbed without facing brutal retaliation in both armed force and legal prosecution then you do not in fact live in a free country to the contrary it's an extremely tyrannical one.
