SO ANYWAY the title of this 2009 paper is a little confusing but basically this study gathered people who were diagnosed by doctors with “spider bites” and had them examined further by people with actual specialized expertise on spiders and spider bites.
85% of the doctors were wrong. Dangerously wrong, because what they took to be spider bites ranged from MRSA infections to skin cancer.
