1987's Stagefright/Aquarius is one of the strangest slashers ever made. It's Italian origin combines the giallo roots of the genre with a surreal and campy, yet gory 80s aesthetic. It's one of my favorite lesser known cult films. Musical theater meets new wave meets elaborate dismemberment.
