“If the people are awakened only at the time of voting and become dormant afterward; if the people only listen to big slogans during election campaigns but have no say afterward; if the people are only favored during canvassing but are left out after the election, such a democracy is not a true democracy.”

  8. zvaigzdelasas said: If you read the study they posted on their own website, you’ll see that it actually is based on 8 interviews with 8 people, who are then asked to estimate how many people have gone missing in their villages. Those eight (8) claims are then extrapolated throughout every single village in the region. Speaking as a mathematician, this is statistical malpractice.
  9. zvaigzdelasas said: @party1971 why would the CIA be the one to directly make the claims? Thats silly, of course they have shell orgs. But since youve left the vacuum open, lets take a look at some of the figures. If you look at the sources whenever the more honest news sites claim “1+ million”, youll find that the claim originates w the organization “China Human Rights Defenders”.
  10. party1971 said: @zvaigzdelasas informants came out detailing the situation and there are interviews but according to you they’re all CIA agents spreading propaganda so there’s literally no point. You can find the interviews if you want though
  11. party1971 said: @zvaigzdelasas no, look it up yourself lmao. I’m not going to argue with you because like I said it’s impossible to have a debate with someone who will just claim everything they don’t like is propaganda. You are clearly better at me than this so just look it up.
  12. zvaigzdelasas said: @party1971 ok so you clearly claim to know who they arrested & how many they arrested. Can I see your data source for that?
  13. party1971 said: Threat to the party
  14. party1971 said: @zvaigzdelasas by arresting the people responsible. Not by technologically monitoring everyone of a certain ethnicity. The United States tried to engage in mass surveillance after 9/11 and it was completely wrong. They monitor everyone of a specific ethnicity. Not just people intelligence tells them are extremists. That’s racially motivated. They engage in eugenics. That’s racially motivated. The CCP has always seen anyone with any differences, any minorities, as a threa

  16. zvaigzdelasas said: @party1971 note that even the US government (who runs VOANews) admits that thousands of uyghur were fighting in the syrian war getting radicalized into salafism
  17. zvaigzdelasas said: @party1971 ok so you do believe there was salafist extremist violence. What would be your perfect way of dealing with salafist extremist violence
  18. party1971 said: @zvaigzdelasas because I think they just used that as an excuse. They went far overboard, as usual, and that their goals were more political and economic rather than rooted in enforcing just law.
  19. zvaigzdelasas said: @party1971 do you not believe that because you dont believe there was salafist terrorist violence, or just because you think that they couldve handled salafist terrorist violence in a more nuanced way?
  20. party1971 said: @zvaigzdelasas I’m never going to support a country that commits ethnic cleansing. I don’t believe the CCP’s stance that they are simply cracking down on Islamic terrorism
  21. zvaigzdelasas said: *but nobody who supports china
  22. zvaigzdelasas said: @party1971 i know its hard to get out of the US propagandized mindset but who supports china does so because they just buy what they say at face value without doing actual research. If you’d like to know more I have plenty of resources, just kindly drop the edgy provocative stance - youre not too great at it
  23. zvaigzdelasas said: @party1971 ouleft.sp-mesolite.tilt… heres an analysis of political composition written from an anti-china perspective. As you see, they have people who support western style liberal democracy, they have neoliberals, they have right wingers, they have people who think china isnt socialist enough….
  24. party1971 said: @zvaigzdelasas unfortunately in China you can’t disagree with party ideals or support democracy unless you want to be arrested or killed
  25. zvaigzdelasas said: @party1971 in liberal democracies you can choose the party but you have 0 influence over their policies. In Socialist democracies you can’t choose the ruling party, but you can choose their policies. Do policies or parties put food on the table?
