The qutrub is a type of djinni from Arabic folklore. Often called the “Arabian werewolf,” its name has been translated varyingly as “wolf-human,” “dog-human,” “imp” and “thief.”

Similar to the ghoul, who are also said to be djinn, the qutrub haunts graveyards and burial sites and devours corpses. The qutrub is perhaps best known as an enemy in the video game Final Fantasy XI, where it appears as a mummy-like creature.
