What’s True: He bought the land for his new house in Oregon 2 months after the disaster; it was completed 2 years and 3 months after the incident and he was recorded advocating for a reduction of restrictions 2 days later; since then he has repeatedly emphasized the safety and necessity of new developments and how advanced the PBSRCC’s newer tools are, leading to the Cruz amendment on the 2020 CARES Act.
