Sacred Lake of Amun-Re
Sunset view of the sacred lake of Amun-Re in the Karnak Temple Complex. The large crescent-shaped lake was dug during the reign of King Thutmose III (ca. 1479-1425 BC). The sacred lake was where priests purified themselves before performing rituals in the temple.
