On this day, 7 December 1928, Avram Noam Chomsky, legendary activist, linguist and author was born in Philadelphia. Chomsky came to prominence as an activist as an outspoken critic of the Vietnam war, for which he was arrested several times and placed on President Richard Nixon’s official list of enemies. He has since become one of the world’s leading critics of US foreign-policy, and one of the most cited scholars alive. Politically Chomsky usually identifies with currents including libertarian socialism and anarcho-syndicalism.
Prof Chomsky was kind enough to contribute a foreword for our first book, Working Class History: Everyday Acts of Resistance & Rebellion, out this week, available here: https://shop.workingclasshistory.com https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/1601985913319886/?type=3
