On this day, 30 November 1961, a covert Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) operation known as The Cuban Project or Operation Mongoose was authorised by President John F. Kennedy aimed at overthrowing the Cuban Communist Party government led by Fidel Castro. As a result, the CIA orchestrated multiple terrorist attacks in Cuba, including against railways, oil and food storage, a powerplant, a sawmill and more. While Operation Mongoose was officially closed at the end of 1962, sabotage of the Cuban economy by the US government continues to this day. https://www.facebook.com/workingclasshistory/photos/a.296224173896073/1596355023882975/?type=3
