crazy how India can have the largest labor strike in world history and it doesn't even make the news in the US. it's almost like they don't want us to know we can demand better working conditions
250,000,000 people participated in India
For reference that'd be ~75% of the US population
That many people working together for fair labor laws
And most of the western world hasn't even heard about it
1 out of every 30 people in the entire WORLD participated in this strike and you haven't heard about it
4x more people participated than the number of people in the world who have tested positive for covid and you haven't heard about it
This should be a massive story. Why haven't you heard about it? Theres a very specific reason.
For reference, this strike took place among India’s four biggest farming states, Punjab, Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh and Haryana.
A lot of the farmers from these states marched to Delhi to get the attention of the government. Not actual Delhi farmers.
Although, there were probably Delhi farmers among them, we should give credit where it’s due to the main states.
