Begotten is a, let me quote this, “experimental dark fantasy horror film” produced, edited and directed by Edmund Elias Merhige. It’s plot features god killing himself? Birthing mother earth out of his dead body? Some, if not most scenes are hard to stomach or handle and the film is notably featured as one of the most disturbing movies ever made.
