Arrow Video has announced new details on Gamera: The Complete Collection. Originally due out in July, it will now be released on August 18. The box set collects all twelve films in the Japanese kaiju franchise on Blu-ray.
The set also includes a 120-page comic book including a reprint of Dark Horse Comics’ Gamera mini series from 1996 and the first-ever English-language printing of the prequel comic, The Last Hope, as well as an 80-page book featuring new writing on the series by Patrick Macias, illustrations by Jolyon Yates, and more.
The series kicked off with 1965’s Gamera, the Giant Monster, followed by 1966’s Gamera vs. Barugon, 1967’s Gamera vs. Gyaos, 1969’s Gamera vs. Viras, 1969’s Gamera vs. Guiron, 1970’s Gamera vs. Monster X, 1971’s Gamera vs. Zigra, and 1980’s Super Monster.
The franchise was rebooted in the Heisei era with 1995’s Gamera: Super Monster, which was followed by 1996’s Gamera 2: Attack of the Legion and 1999’s Gamera 3: Revenge of Iris. It was relaunched yet again in 2006 with Gamera the Brave, the final entry in the franchise thus far.
Gamera: The Complete Collection is available for pre-order for $129.99 on Amazon. More details can be found below.

I am sad to have to wait until August for this, but thankfully it was only delayed by around 2 weeks. Not the worst...
