On this day, 23 May 1908, Annemarie Schwarzenbach, bisexual Swiss German photographer, writer, anti-fascist and androgynous style icon was born.
A prominent character in the prewar Bohemian Berlin, with the rise of fascism Annemarie rejected her pro-Nazi family, began financing the anti-fascist literary review Die Sammlung and photographed the rise of fascism in Europe.
