#26 - The Wulver

The wulver is a wolfman from Scottish folklore, in particular that of the Shetland Islands. Unlike a typical werewolf, the wulver does not shapeshift and was never a human to begin with. Also unlike werewolves, the wulver is said to be a peaceful creature, and even benevolent at times. It apparently lives alone in a cave, but can be seen fishing from a rock known as The Wulver’s Stane. Provided that it is left in peace by humans, the wulver may perform acts of kindness in return, such as guiding lost travellers or leaving fish on the windowsills of poor families.
