I’m Fine With Being Cucked By The Alpha Male Engineer Because, Well, He’s Earned It Hasn’t He? Made A Magic Free Motor, Didn’t He? What Have You Done With Your Life, Some Fancy Smelting Or A Bit Of Mining? Shut The Fuck Up And Watch The Übermensch Roughly Dominate Your Girlfriend And Indulge In Her Hidden Service Sub Kink the novel.
Sequel to Watch Your Lover Fuck Lesser Men Until You Prove Your Worth By Bombing A Housing Project With Her And Somehow Make A Point About Aesthetic Principles So Good That The Whole Courtroom Stood Up And Clapped After Your Testimony No Really.
Both part of the Ayn Rand Was A Pillow Princess With A Praise Kink And You Can’t Change My Mind series.
So there’s a point at which they’re in Galt’s Gulch and Francisco and the Oil Dude (Wyatt? Ellis?) start getting all stoked because Dagny starts drawing up a plan for a little spur of a railroad to move the shale oil and she points out that it’s an easy grade and they’d only need to do a little bit of blasting and then she goes “Oh what’s the point, to throw away a national system and build a local carrier” or something suchlike but you know what really bothers me about this scene?
She’s talking about building a spur of railroad because there’s too much oil being produced to move by donkey.
Galt’s Gulch isn’t.
Like.
It is not a thriving metropolis, it’s a valley full of rugged individualists who have large lands and small houses and who don’t live there year round unless they need to hide out and who are On Strike Of The Mind and don’t share their discoveries or goods with the rest of the world.
WHO THE FUCK IS ALL THAT OIL FOR?
Y’all have ONE tractor. You have ONE foundry. There is ONE airplane mechanic and all of your power is from magic static electricity motors.
Wh - why is Ellis Wyatt extracting hundreds of gallons a day (god, or is it hundreds of barrels? I feel like the line in the book is 300 barrels a day)?
Anyway please remember that this is a book that is very popular with people who are VERY sure they understand the economy.
Basically my point is that we, as a society, need to be more accepting of kinks and polyamory because if Rand had been able to build an IRL Himbo Harem maybe we all would have been spared this fucking book.

She tried, tho. And like most of her “brilliant” ideas, it simply doesn’t work in a real world with actual human beings...
