Sometimes Egyptian divine beings cannot be explained well they can, but not on sight alone

Here are some of my favourite lads

Human legged, bird winged, snake dude

Monkey Hawk guy

Proto Medusa

This one isn’t weird, it’s just Isis as a Kite banging a dead Osiris. Don’t believe the ‘Isis performed magic with Osiris’ dead body to create Horus’ bullshit. Isis made a new golden phallus for Osiris then, as a bird, absolutely railed him while he was dead. Apparently while Bes, a frog deity (unsure which one), and Thoth are bearing witness to this.

I’ve been looking for that three snake headed guy for years!!!!! WHATS THEIR NAME?!

thatlittleegyptologist

How’s your Ptolemaic Egyptian? Because here’s the register above his head that explains what’s going on in the scene:

Mostly the text is talking about the death and burial of Osiris (repeatedly mentions his burial mound) but if the name for that dude is going to be anywhere it’ll be in those registers. (I don’t have the energy to translate it all)

(From Mariette’s Dendera Vol IV, Plate 83. Or page 86 of the PDF) If you wanted to check out the scene in more depth.

Thank you for this link @thatlittleegyptologist, so I needed help from my DnD group to help me figure this out. So apparently the three headed snake guy does not have a name at all. He is just part of a group of symbolic characters. So me and the group righteously declared to name him “ Snake Bitch”.

I wholeheartedly endorse Snake Bitch!
