
On this day, 13 November 1913 restaurant worker and Spanish civil war fighter Dong Hong Yick (陈文饶 – Wen Rao Chen in Chinese) was born in Canton, China. Migrating to New York’s Chinatown, he travelled to Spain in the Abraham Lincoln Brigade to fight the fascists and was killed. He was reported MIA in 1938 near Gandesa.
