
Egypt Unveils Giant Statue of God Horus in Luxor
An Egyptian-German archaeological mission led by German Egyptologist Horig Sourouzian has uncovered a huge statue of the ancient Egyptian God Horus, lord of the sun and patron deity of kingship, on the West Bank of Luxor. The Egyptian Ministry of Antiquities said in a statement on Thursday, 19th December 2019.
“The mission found big part of the statue during the excavations work among the ruins of the Funerary Temple of Amenhotep III, also known as the Temple of Millions of Years in Kom El Hitan” said Fathi Yassin, Director General of West Bank Antiquities in Luxor.
