Statue of the Goddess Sekhmet Enthroned
Seated black granite statue of the warrior goddess Sekhmet. It dates from the reign of Amenhotep III (ca. 1391-1353 BC), the 9th pharaoh of the 18th Dynasty. He commissioned hundreds of Sekhmet statues. She was regarded by the Egyptians as a bringer of destruction to enemies of the sun-god Re.
