
On this day, 10 November 1970, Puerto Rican radicals from the Young Lords took over Lincoln Hospital in New York City’s South Bronx. Over 600 people, including clerical workers, nurses and doctors, joined them in occupying the Nurses’ Residence in order to publicise the flagrant disregard for human life in New York City hospitals.
